DESIGN FOR ENTERPRISES

A complete range of free training courses provided by the European Commission to discover how design-driven innovation can become the key to improve European SMEs competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability.

COMPLETED

SUBJECT

The European Commission is launching Design for Enterprises, or #Design4Enterprises, a three years program of courses to support design driven innovation

MAIN RESEARCH QUESTION

Understanding new technologies, organizations and business cultural trends is the core of the courses. The training program focus on design as the key feature in the strategies to develop a SME in the global market of today. Design-driven-innovation is not a formal tip adding appeal to products and services – it involves the use of traditional and new materials, of new production tools and processes and of innovative approaches to better meet customers’ needs.

Design is a new point of view about the product/service. It is the key to success for European enterprises.

WHAT WE DO

The core of the courses is to propagate and support design driven innovation, focusing on design as the key feature in the strategies to develop a SME in the global market of today. The training project is composed by two training programs: the full and the short courses.

METHODOLOGY

The program is conceived in a perspective of «train the trainers», to maximize the number of involved companies. For this reason, the target participants are firstly the “Business intermediaries” who are working in direct interface with SMEs, helping them in improving their competitiveness and secondly European SMEs that are interested to improve their design management skills.

RESULTS

Design for Enterprises, or #Design4Enterprises is a three years programme of courses to support design driven innovation. The courses will be delivered in 29 EU Member States and Associated Countries  and will be targeted on: European SMEs, that will improve their design management skills and Business Development Intermediaries, such as EEN partners, that will become future trainers for other SMEs
