MAKE MORE BY VENETA CUCINE

CILAB works together with Veneta Cucine in order to explore the relationship between innovation and tradition. The fundamental basis for true innovation, which stems from a radical negation or from an equally radical transformation of an existing reality.

COMPLETED

SUBJECT

Draw the guidelines and the content of a design context in which renovation is the focal point. The goal is to open up new approaches to a re-examination of the kitchen, both as a room and in each of its specific areas, as well as the various functions and daily rites which take place there.

OBJECTIVES

  • From this standpoint, words such as re-utilise, re-member and re-new acquire a fresh meaning, both cultural and social and, more significantly, they become fundamental in terms of contemporary design.
  • Re-interpret objects and accessories from the past and adapt them to the immediate future;
  • Re-utilise objects and accessories in a contemporary setting
  • Re-new existing forms and functions using the latest technologies and materials.

WHAT WE DID

CILAB partnered with Veneta Cucine in defining a design contest briefing, giving young designers the chance to face innovative themes and design for a famous italian design brand.

METHODOLOGY

The aim of this collaboration is the building of the second edition of the ideas “Make More Veneta Cucine”. The project was developed around five focal points:

  • Setting up a call for ideas / ban.
  • Support for the identification of experts and professionals for the jury.
  • Supervision in the selection process of the winning projects.
  • Supervising the prototyping phase.
  • Supervision for events scheduled during the competition and for the 2016 Salone del Mobile Activities.

RESULTS

This collaboration has led to some relevant results such as:

  • The expansion of the network of creators who are involved in the innovation activities of Veneta Cucine.
  • Design of feasible products and to be included in the “new generation” catalog Add More Veneta Cucine.
  • The building of relationships with productive and communication partners in order to ensure cohesion throughout.

“I really believe in feedbacks and network: CREA was a great opportunity to know new people, new cultures and new subjects, out of my everyday context”

Rodolfo Cuadros, Peruvian digital professional Crea 2015 participant, Como Summer Academy, Italy
